Hospice Medical Director

Overview

We are looking for a Hospice Medical Director to join our Reno, NV team. This Hospice Medical Director:

1. Serves as a medical resource to hospice team, patients, families, and attending physicians regarding pain and symptom management.
2. Attends, participates, and collaborates the IDG meetings to ensure that the medical needs of the patients are met.
3. Provides oversight of the plan of care.
4. Partners with the patient's attending medical director/physician to develop and update the plan of care.
5. Certifies patient meets the medical criteria for hospice admission. Signs appropriate documentation to indicate the approval of the admission.
6. Partners with the Admission Team to provide guidance and support.
7. Reviews clinical information prior to the recertification period and provides written recertification of terminal illness for subsequent benefit periods.

About You

Qualifications:

• Doctoral Degree in medicine (M.D.) or (D.O.) and current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of practice.
• Should possess exemplary leadership skills with a passion for optimizing the care of patients with hospice and palliative care needs.
• Possesses a reputation and positive image in the community as an authority in hospice and palliative medicine.
• Is familiar and skilled with working with an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience with and ability to work within a distributed physician medical staff (or similar) structure.
• Current and valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)

We Offer

Additional Details:

• This is a job notification only. The Medical Director will not be an employee of Gentiva. The Medical Director will invoice Gentiva for services rendered.

Process:

• When there is a contractor Medical Director need, VP of Sales will notify Stacey Sanchez.
• Stacey will enter the above job notification into iCIMS.
• The job posting will appear on our career site and external job boards (i.e. Indeed, LinkedIn)
• When Medical Directors submit interest, Stacey will forward the contact information and/or resume to VP of Sales.
• VP of Sales and local Hospice Care Consultants will reach out to the National Medical Director to determine interest.
• If both parties agree, the Team will follow current process which is to partner with Procurement on signing an agreement
