Duties :

  • Analyze new case files, develop action plans, and budgets, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants while ensuring compliance with pleading requirements.
  • Manage and prepare discovery responses and oversee document production.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and discovery events, documenting detailed reports.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations, secure necessary approvals, and prepare for trials as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams, including paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements :

  • Over 5 years of litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense.
  • Proven track record of handling complex litigation matters.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Education :

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent legal degree.

Certifications :

  • Active Bar membership in North Carolina is required.

Skills :

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.
